Issy White creates contemporary jewellery from textures and forms foraged from the natural world. All of her work begins outdoors, where she searches for distinctive pieces of bark and other natural materials that can become the basis for new designs.

From nature into jewellery

Issy forages for natural materials with interesting textures, markings and forms, from deeply fissured English Oak bark to the twisting stems of Corkscrew Willow.

Using traditional lost wax casting, she carries their tactile character directly into precious metal. Issy then shapes, sculpts, combines and sometimes embellishes these natural forms with gemstones to create contemporary jewellery.

Nature provides the basis for each design, but not the limit of it.
